This sweater name is pronounced like this: BO-Koo Dah-mee! It is French for “a lot of friends”. I originally designed this sweater in collaboration with Dawn (Barker Wool) and Aimée (La Bien Aimée) at the Knitting in the Hills Retreat in 2023. It is such a wonderful retreat, filled with so many fiber friends.

Yarn Notes: Color B is a Lace weight yarn held double to make it closer to a Sport weight. See colors of my yarn in skein form in last photo.

Techniques used:
knit, purl, stranded colorwork knitting, slip-stitch texture, knitting in the round, short rows, knit increases and decreases, purl increases, Twisted German Cast On, Elastic Bind Off.

Construction Notes:
This deep circular yoke pullover sweater is knit from the top down, starting with a small accented ribbed neckband. After working this neckband, shorts rows will be worked to raise the back of the neck a bit. You will then begin the circular yoke shaping, which consists of striking graphic stranded colorwork in a diamond motif using the fuzzy laceweight yarn held double. This will create such a delightful texture! Increases will happen in a wedge shape evenly. As the yoke expands, the diamond motif will get larger and larger, until you reach the depth of the yoke needed. There will be some slight raglan shaping at the sleeves before separating. After you separate the Sleeves and Body, you will work one of my favorite slip-stitch diamond textures with your Color A yarn. The Body will be split at the Hem, to create an extremely comfortable garment for everyday wear! The Hem will mimic the neckband, using your Color C yarn as an accent. The Sleeves will be quite wide to create sort of a puffed sleeve, with a tight cuff, which is also worked using your Color C yarn for a lovely accent.

The deep yoke and oversized fit make this sweater perfect for a casual everyday look with jeans. You could also dress it up with slacks or a skirt!

This pattern is both written and charted for your convenience! The stranded colorwork yoke is charted only.
