Feeling all the Spring VibesĀ :: A lightweight, A-line top with a decorative arrow front panel, knit using a combination of stockinette and one-color brioche.

Bring on the Spring and Summer weather!! This top is a classic piece to add to your handmade wardrobe and is my ideal fit for the Spring and Summerā€¦well, year-round actually: oversized at the hips and just a bit of a loose fit at the bust. The drop shoulder construction is flattering for all sizes, and the decorative front panel makes this a knit you wonā€™t want to put down!

Skill level:Ā Beginner – Intermediate Beginner. Basic brioche skills are not required, but are recommended. Techniques used: knit, purl, brioche knit (brk), brioche purl (brp), brioche increases and decreases, knitting in the round, short rows.

The brioche portion of this pattern is both written and charted for your convenience! Full schematic included in pattern.

Construction Notes:Ā Spring Vibes is a simple lightweight top with drop shoulders, knit seamlessly from the bottom up. The top begins with a one-color brioche hem, then the remainder of the top is knit in stockinette stitch, with a decorative brioche front panel. Stitches are slowly decreased to create an overall A-line fit, very open and loose at the hips, and a more fitted look at the bust. Once the underarms are reached, the Front and Back are separated and each worked flat separately. The Front is worked in both stockinette and one-color brioche, while the Back is worked in plain stockinette. The brioche front panel begins to extend into a triangle to shape the neckline naturally, bringing it down lower than the Back. Short rows are used to shape the shoulders, and then they are seamed together using the Three Needle Bind Off method on the Right Side to create stability and a decorative seam. The Armholes are finished with a small one-color brioche hem.
