Description
Introducing the Neighborly Cowl :: a simply squishy color blocked cowl, all knit using both one-color and two-color Double Brioche to create a subtle gradient.
This cowl is knit completely in the round, transitioning from One-Color Double Brioche to Two-Color Double Brioche to create a subtle gradient effect. Double Brioche is a fascinating technique that creates a gorgeously thick and squishy fabric. I designed this cowl to compliment this small batch run of YOTH Yarns Neighbor yarn, which has a delightful story and is wonderful to work with. Grab 4 skeins in a gradient of DK weight yarn. I used 2 marled skeins with 2 solid skeins. This look could also be achieved using a speckled fade combo, or even a solid / semi-solid gradient! As you can see, I used very little yardage of each skein, so you could definitely grab leftovers from your stash!
Skill Level: Beginner brioche; I love this brioche knitting technique, and this is a great pattern to try it out! Here is a video tutorial that I have put together of Two-Color Double Brioche, if you want to take a peek before you try it out. I have also included a video tutorial link in the pattern for the super stretchy bind off I used!!
