Floweret : A sweet little symmetrical triangle-shaped shawl, knit from side to side using one-color brioche with a stockinette center faux seam. A perfect one-skein wonder shawlette!

Yarn Notes:
Grab 1 skein of fingering or light fingering yarn for this one-color brioche shawlette! I’ve created this pattern with 2 sizes, so depending on the yardage of your yarn, you can produce something that will make a statement in your wardrobe. This pattern is meant for those gorgeous One-Of-A-Kind skeins of hand-dyed artisan yarns. You know the ones. That yarn that was calling to you from the shelf or wall, begging to come home with you, with absolutely no project in mind. Do you have any yarn like that? Just me?

See the last photo here of the yarn I used for both my samples in skein form!

Skill level:
Beginner brioche friendly!! One-color brioche knit flat is like the “garter stitch” of brioche!

Techniques used:
I-cord Tab Cast On, knit, purl, brioche knit (brk), sl1yo, brioche increase and decrease (brkyobrk & brLsl dec), side to side triangle shaping, i-cord edging, i-cord Bind Off.

Construction Notes:
This shawl begins with a gorgeous i-cord tab cast on, which continues as an i-cord edging along both edges for the entire shawl. The triangle shape is knit from one corner to the other by increasing on one edge until you get to the desired depth, then decreasing on the same edge until you reach the same stitch count as the beginning of the shawl. The increases and decreases are worked in longer increments, which help to give this shawl a longer wingspan. When you stop at the halfway point, you will create a stockinette “faux seam” down the center, which will draw the eye and create an interesting focal point. Because of the nature of brioche fabric versus stockinette, this will make a noticeable dent or notch in the center of the shawl!

One-color brioche is the perfect fabric to showcase hand-dyed yarns and breaks up the natural pooling quite nicely!

Modification Notes:
Feel free to modify the size of your shawl based on how much yarn is in your skein! Extensive modification notes are included with the pattern!

This shawl is so fun to knit and wear, and will elevate any outfit. I love wearing this shape kerchief-style, wrapped around my neck with the bottom of the triangle pointing downwards. The smaller size will be more like a neck kerchief and is very stylish!
