Check out their Lookbook, featuring Shawl With A View: Baltimore!
Shawl With A View: Baltimore : A striking rectangular shawl designed to resemble the Baltimore skyline, using a combination of two-color brioche and garter stitch.
This shawl pattern was truly inspired by Neighborhood Fiber Co., located in Baltimore, Maryland! Have you seen my Zing Zip shawl pattern? This uses the same idea of breaking up the row using two-color garter stitch and two-color brioche to create graphic differences in the fabric!
Yarn Notes:
Grab 4 skeins of fingering weight yarn in 2 colors for this striking rectangular shawl inspired by the city skyline of Baltimore!! I highly recommend using yarns in high contrasting colors for the best outcome. Honestly it doesn’t really matter which color you use for Main or Contrast because it is completely reversible, one side looking like Baltimore in the daytime, and the other side at night.
See photos here of my yarn in skein form, hand picked by Karida Collins of NFC.
Skill Level:
Beginner Brioche Friendly! This is a fantastic first project if you are new to working this technique flat!!

Construction Notes:
This graphic and striking rectangular shawl is knit from side to side, using a combination of two-color brioche and two-color (or micro) garter stitch. With each row, you are building the city skyline of Baltimore, Maryland! The pattern will keep you engaged as you travel from block to block. I have provided both written instructions as well as charts! For the best possible knitting experience, I highly recommend following the charts. Especially if you’re a visual person. Schematic is included with a Block by Block breakdown of each section. This way, you can modify your pattern to accommodate your yardage / meterage, for instance by removing a building or block if you need to.
I love gigantic rectangular shawls, they are so easy to wear! I love wearing mine draped over my shoulders with the bulk of the shawl around my back. You can also wrap it around your neck and shoulders for a daring accessory!
